Have you read "The Kite Runner," and what did you think?
I was underwhelmed. I don't know where I got the idea that this was literature. It was just some formulaic hack writing. I did learn a few things about Afghanistan's culture so it was not a complete waste.
Yeah it was far from a literature work that will be recognized for hundreds of years but it was interesting and like you said it gave an interesting insight to Afghan culture.
